Stoneware

Care & Maintenance Guide

Our stoneware is meticulously crafted through a refined process to ensure durability, beauty, and uniqueness in every piece.

Production Process
Stoneware is a specific type of ceramic made from a particular type of clay that contains a higher proportion of silica and other minerals. It is denser and harder compared to other ceramics. Stoneware is typically fired at a high temperature, around 2,100°F to 2,300°F (1,150°C to 1,260°C), resulting in exceptionally durable and long-lasting stoneware.

Functionality & Everyday Use
Stoneware has a more rustic, earthy appearance with a smooth or slightly textured surface. It is typically heavier and more durable than other ceramics. Our dinnerware is both practical and aesthetically refined, designed to enhance everyday dining experiences in private homes and high-traffic environments alike. Each piece is certified microwave and dishwasher safe for your convenience. The Native Teapot from the Native Collection, featuring a wooden handle, is not dishwasher safe and should be washed by hand.

Unique Glazing & Finish
The glazing and colour of our Native Collection are developed in collaboration with expert ceramic craftsmen. Each piece is hand-painted to create a unique surface before its final firing, ensuring that no two pieces are identical. The natural variations in colour and texture are a testament to the artisanal process, making every item one-of-a-kind.

Marks, Scratches & Stains
Over time, plates and bowls may develop cutlery marks or minor scratches from regular use. This is particularly common on unglazed and matte-glazed surfaces, which are more sensitive compared to glossy ceramics. These marks are not defects but rather a natural characteristic of stoneware. Please follow the product instructions carefully for optimal results.

Dishwasher Guidelines
Our dinnerware is designed for dishwasher use; however, we recommend avoiding temperatures above 65°C, as excessive heat may cause the glaze to craze over time.

Microwave Safety
Our collection meets EN 15284:2007 standards for microwave safety. However, we advise against using power settings above 675 Watts, as excessive heat may cause the dinnerware to overheat and, in rare cases, compromise the glaze.

Storage & Handling
Avoid stacking too tightly to minimize the risk of chipping.

Do not expose the dinnerware to sudden temperature changes (e.g., placing hot dinnerware into cold water) to prevent thermal shock.

For Native Teapot, ensure the wooden handle remains dry and is not submerged in water.

By following these guidelines, you can preserve the beauty and functionality of your stoneware dinnerware for years to come
