This hand-painted finish brings warmth and depth to aluminium, with tonal variations that recall the quiet character of patina. To preserve its soulful surface, dust regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For deeper cleaning, use a damp cloth with mild, pH-neutral soap, then dry immediately to prevent streaks or water marks.
Avoid abrasive pads, brushes, or harsh cleaners, as these can damage the hand-painted layers. Protect the finish by using coasters, mats, or felt pads where surfaces come into contact with objects, and wipe spills promptly to prevent staining. Keep the piece away from prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or excess humidity to ensure the painted surface retains its richness and depth.

Metal
Inspired by architecture, the metal finishes of 101 Copenhagen are characterized by treated and rich surfaces, emphasizing the unique potential and qualities of each metal. The finishes of brass, bronze and burned black are all plated one or two times to create a layered metal finish with a subtle warmth. Subsequent to the plating, all metal colours are hand brushed to achieve a beautiful patinated look. Finally, the colour is spray painted with a mat transparent paint, adding a silky mat finish to the metal.
The products of cast aluminium have small marks and variations from the casting process, therefore small holes and unevenness might occur. Products made of cast aluminium is not recommended for outdoor use. Standing outside will cause the product to rust. Resembling architectural concrete facades, the Oxidized aluminium colour is made from a special acid treatment. The metal is dipped in acid for a very short time, creating a raw mat grey surface and leaving large sporadic marks.
Maintenance:
For daily cleaning it is recommended to use a microfiber cloth to remove dust or dirt from the surface. Please do not use cleaning agents that contain acid.
